From February to April 2016 I was invited Researcher in Residence at Unitec in New Zealand. The famous New Zealand Artist Jeff Thomson did the opening speech. Also quoting some comments by David Truebridge. Marcus Williams - the dean of research at Unitec - said: "The work that Walter has made while here is a fine example of creative research, where iterative experimentation and critical analysis lead to an art or design solution".
Info: A book to the exhibition will be published soon.
The commissioned research project "A cloud for fresh snow" was installed in Obergurgl from 2014-2015. The full-scale lab was accompanied by an exhibition in the Obergurgl University Center. There were shown also innovative spin-off projects like the snow-printer or the snow-dancer. Switbert Greiner said some words at the opening. Walter Klasz, Michael Bacher (CEO Neuschnee GmbH) and Harald Gohm (CEO Standortagentur Tirol) presented the project to the international press (including ORF, Die Zeit etc.). Afterwards there was organized the first Neuschnee-Symposium in collaboration with the Standortagentur Tirol.
The lab and the exhibition was the first project by Walter Klasz as researcher and teacher at the unit koge in Innsbruck.
